Logan's Introduction

 Hello fellow classmates,

My name is Logan Biggs and I was born in Dallas, Texas on February 3rd, 1998. I have lived in Frisco, Texas since I was in 8th grade, but has always lived in the great state of Texas. I grew up playing soccer since I was 10 and I actually attended Midwestern State University my freshman year on a soccer scholarship. I got hurt, but, short story, ended up here at The University of Oklahoma and my time here has been great. This is my 3rd year here and I am majoring in Finance. Money and math has always been a passion of mine since I can remember. Something cool about my major is that, sometimes, depending what you do, you get to be a strategist for other companies and take care of the financial decisions they choose to make. The best class I took last semester was Business Finance. In my opinion, this was my favorite class because this is what I am majoring in and I really enjoy doing financial problems. My favorite type of movies are comedy and action movies. My favorite movie I watched recently was called Kingsman, It is an very intense action movie and has a bunch of thrill to it. My favorite type of music is be country, pop, and rap. My favorite artist ever is Juice Wrld (Rest in Peace). Juice Wrld was an American rapper and artist. He passed away last December and it was such a sad and terrible day for the rap world because he was such an young talented artist who died too soon. My favorite food is Mexican and I could eat it every day forever if I had the option to, I love spicy things and especially spicy food.

I look forward to learning everything about Epics of India and blogging this semester.

  1. Hi Logan! As a finance major, you might need to learn about Kubera, the god of wealth! Kubera - link ... he has an important link to the Ramayana epic that you will be reading because Kubera built a beautiful city of gold (naturally!) called Lanka, which his half-brother then stole from him, and that half-brother, Ravana, is going to be the villain that the epic is all about. Do you ever go by Bizzell? One of the comic books there gives all the backstory on Ravana and Kubera and their fight over the golden city: Kubera: The Lord of Wealth - link... anyway, now you have some backstory when you start reading the Ramayana: Ravana has a seriously complicated family life of his own! :-)

  2. Hey Logan!

Finance is really cool, I would like to learn more about it because of how applicable it is in real life. Kingsman was a great movie, it really visualized what I thought being a spy would be like when I was a kid, and even now to be honest. Juice WRLD, rest in peace, was a great artist I started listening to him a lot more after his posthumous album was released and I really wish I listened to him before and saw him perform live.

It was really nice learning more about you, have a great rest of the semester!

  3. Logan,

Sorry to hear about your situation with being injured and losing your scholarship. I am also a business major and I actually took Business Finance last semester as well. Although I'm not a finance major, I learned a lot from Professor Lubomir and it was definitely one of the classes where I learned the most. I have a feeling that you will be successful in whatever career you decide to pursue because of your passions.

  4. Hi Logan,

I also really enjoyed the movie Kingsman. If I'm thinking of the right one, I found it to be very comical in places. I also really enjoy the music of Juice Wrld and I'm embarrassed to admit that I had no idea that he passed away and it makes me very sad! I hope you have a great semester!

  5. Hello Logan. I am sorry to hear about your accident but I hope you are enjoying Oklahoma very well! I also hope you are liking OU! I myself have never had an affinity to math so thats cool that you do! I am more of a science person hence my major in biology. I have also heard that the kingsman is good but I have not watched it! I hope you are doing well and I wish you luck in all your classes.

  6. Hi Logan. That is so cool that you were a student athlete. It is terrible you got injured, but I hope you like OU! I also like to listen to Juice Wrld and it was sad to see his pass away so young. I really enjoyed his last album. I hope you are enjoying your time at OU and good luck the rest of the semester!

  7. Hi Logan, I'm sorry about your injury; I hope you are doing well at OU and staying in good health in the midst of the pandemic. I also am a big fan of action and comedy movies: I recently finished watching all of the Marvel movies (endgame was sad I admit, but it did have some funny moments). If I had to pick a favorite, Thor: Ragnarok would have to be the one - it was hilarious! If you haven't watched them, I would definitely recommend! I look forward to reading your work in this class!

  8. Hey Loan! So nice to meet you! I am sorry to hear about your accident, but I am glad that you got the opportunity to play soccer in college. I also love Mexican food! If you havent tried it yet, you have to try Tarahumara's! I am from Norman and it is by far some of the best tex-mex in Norman. I think it is super cool that you are majoring in Finance, I could never do that. But it is nice to meet you!

  9. Hi Logan!
I also grew up playing soccer for the majority of my life! I never wanted it to be more than a hobby though. It's really cool that you grew up in Frisco. I think FC Dallas hosts their summer soccer camp there (hopefully I am not wrong or it would be super embarrassing). My siblings have gone to that for years on end, they loved it. I also really love Mexican food, my mom is Mexican so we have home-made Mexican food pretty much every night for dinner. Good luck with the rest of the semester!

  10. Hey Logan! Although I did not play soccer growing up I love to watch it often! my favorite team is Barcelona! One of my favorite artists is/was also Juice Wrld and I really resonated with his lyrics! It broke my heart when he passed away but seeing more of his music come out has really helped me cope with his loss! I wish you the best as you continue your studies and I look forward to reading more of your work!

  11. Hey Logan!

I'm glad you're liking Finance here at OU! I actually played soccer growing up myself here in Oklahoma. In fact, my old high school teammate plays for Midwestern State University currently. His last name is McWilliams and plays forward. I don't want to mention his identity for privacy issues, but I thought that was pretty cool! I'm sorry to hear about your injury. Injuries can hurt you physically and mentally, especially if you have to drop the sport. Nonetheless, goodluck on your journey!

  12. Hey Logan, it's nice to meet you! I was also born and raised in Dallas (Dallas), so it's exciting to hear about someone who grew up close by. Frisco is a great suburb and has some really cool restaurants and fun event places. I also played soccer (Sting and Texans) when I was growing up all through high school, but decided not to play in college. I'm sorry to hear about your injuries, but Boomer Sooner!

  13. Hey Logan! I'm sorry to hear about your injury. It always makes me sad when hearing about an athlete who had to stop playing due to injuries. I'm glad that you found your passion in finance though! I was really sad to hear about Juice Wrld passing as well. I'm Korean so I listen to hip-hop music from Korean every now and again and one of the artists there even made a song as a tribute to Juice Wrld. Good luck on you finals!
